Yellow Creek Gap

February 18, 2008

The FHC pre Christmas hike was of historic proportions. Once we reached Black Gum Gap, for the first time the sun exposed himself (sounds weird doesn’t it.) Rick commented that it only happened because it was the first hike he didn’t bring his sunglasses.
You can see what we hiked in the image. We began at Yellow Creek and ended at Fontana Marina.
The club wishes everyone a festive holiday season. We hope to see you next week for our hike from Stecoah Gap to Yellow Creek. The hike will be a great way to shed the Christmas weight!
Here’s a little info on our January hike: January 5th Slickrock Creek/Ike Branch, January 12th Twentymile Loop, January 19 BMT (Cheoah Dam to Deals Gap), January 26 Shuckstack Tower.

A.T. Journey

February 18, 2008
The November/December issue of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s magazine, known as A.T. Journeys, has an article written by me about Fontana Village Resort. I’m real excited about it since it is my first published article. Please check it out.The photos in the article were taken by my fellow employee/Florida Cracker friend Craig Litz. I’m happy with the way it turned out and excited about the opportunity. There are other writing plans in the work for me here at Fontana Village. More details will be posted on those as they develop.Again, you can check out the article here.Fore more info on the Appalachian Trail visit
